Our guest today, Maria Kelly, is a special human. She has a giant heart for others that is evidenced by the work she has committed her life to. After having spent 14 years in the school system as a teacher, she left that position to start Amor Healing Kitchen. Amor Healing Kitchen, inspired by Ceres Community Project in California, is a Charleston-based non-profit organization that teaches teenagers how to cook healthy vegan food that gets delivered weekly to people who are going through treatment for serious illnesses. Often times the hard things we’ve been through are those exact things that shape our impact. Such is the case with Maria. Having lost her Mom to cancer, Maria now uses her love for healthy, locally sourced food and ability to empower teenagers in ways that directly helps others in their time of need. Maria entered and won Rachael Ray’s Feed it Forward competition and, as a result, appeared on the Rachael Ray Show and in the Rachael Ray magazine. We absolutely loved our time with Maria. Hope you do as well.
