Harrison Blackford never thought she’d become an artist for a living. Growing up in Spartanburg, SC, she always appreciated art, even as a young girl, and went on to study art history as her focus, but it was more an appreciation than actually creating art. After college, she spent time in DC working with politicians, and during her down time, she found herself painting and then selling her art. People saw it and loved it. After moving back to Spartanburg, she entered five of her paintings in a local art show and sold them all. This is when she knew she could make a living from her talents. Now she is a highly respected artist in downtown Charleston, SC at her studio called Harrison Blackford. Her acrylic paintings include architecture, natural life, and landscapes and are colorful, vibrant, energetic, and invite the observer to enter in to a cheerful and happy place. What a delight Harrison is. We hope you enjoy this episode!
